Seeking inspiration for our latest collection, Ventura, we peeled off for a trip to Morocco and came back with a few new favourite flavours, sounds and must-sees. Here’s a rundown of the highlights.
Vin Gris
Move over, mint tea. Vin gris (“grey wine”) is a palest pink style of rosé produced in the northern part of the country. There’s no better drink for cooling off as the sun goes down.
The O
There are many places where the Insta version does not live up the reality. The O is not one of those places. Superb slow food menu, warm surfy vibes and mesmeric mountain and sea views.
Amazigh Design
Berbers (whose indigenous name, Amazigh, means “free people”) maintain a rich, hospitable culture. Amazigh iconography appears everywhere from carpets to tattoos to jewellery.
Amlou Beldi
A paste made from almonds, honey and argan oil, amlou never goes amiss. It’s a common Amazigh breakfast choice, but we found goes surprisingly well for lunch. And supper. And snacks!
Leather
Babouche slippers may be traditional, but we fell for an ultra-modern interpretation. Made by hand in Marrakech, Gastine tasselled loafers are the softest and chicest.
Amouage
A design-forward hotel with the feel of an exclusive beach club, Amouage won us over with an amazing staff, bar, view and playlist.

Ceramics
Why is it so darn exhilarating to haggle in a souk for something stripy or checked? We wanted ALL the rugs, but discovered ceramics are more portable (and less prone to excess baggage fees).
