Rising Tides: Behind the Collection

Keep a weather-eye open for our latest collection, Rising Tides. All of the pieces were designed in Devon and inspired by the local maritime history and folklore carved into our rugged coastline. We caught up with our Creative Director and Founder, Georgie, to learn more about the origins of Rising Tides and how it came to be…

Growing up in a small fishing village I’ve always had a nostalgic fondness for the craggy coves and wild waters of seafaring! More recently, my partner and I have travelled to maritime spots in Falmouth, London, and Spain and I’ve found the experiences really inspiring. Sailors were some of the first and pioneering adventurers - I’m always fascinated by the spirit of their wanderlust.

I absolutely love the Ship’s Wheel Pendant. The Lapis Lazuli Earth Spinner is a definite favourite for me too!  But I really love the tactility and drama of the whole collection – some of the pieces really do feel like vintage charms or ancestral treasures, they really do have - well, that ‘charm’.

From our workshop on the Atlantic coast, the sea is naturally a constant source of inspiration for us. In crafting Rising Tides, we’ve drawn on the enduring symbols of the sea’s mythology – celestial bodies, entwined ropes, and swallows that forever chase the horizon. 

Our pieces are infused with timeless stones that reflect the ocean’s spirit: clear quartz glimmers like the breaking dawn on a calm sea; white topaz sparkles like moonlight on the waves; lapis lazuli holds the depth of the midnight sky; and moonstone captures the mysticism of lunar cycles.

The ocean – just like everyone – has so many sides to it. It’s wild, then calm; it’s treacherous, then inviting. I want people to feel a sense of connection – where they’re drawn to a certain piece because of the way it makes them feel. Each piece is designed to be more than just an accessory; it’s a talisman, something that can evoke adventure, freedom, or even nostalgia for their own memories of the ocean. When they wear it, I hope they feel empowered to navigate their own path, just as sailors once did on their daring voyages.
