Hidden Gems
If you’re cruising the Atlantic coast, you’ll find Wanderlust Life in the North Devon village of Braunton. Endlessly inspired by the wild beauty of our environment, we put a little bit of the spirit of nature into each handmade piece we create. Our shop and studio are both just minutes from the golden sands of Saunton. Come visit!
SEA DIP + SAUNA
Reward yourself after cold water immersion at high tide Saunton Sands with a trip to the Sea Sauna, a woodfired Nordic pod with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. Sessions start at £10.
COASTEERING
Enjoy the coastline as you scramble over and swim alongside it. Expect incredible scenery, wildlife and lots of jumps into the sea. Small sessions from £45 with kit included from North Devon Coasteering.
BELLYBOARDING
The wooden precursor to the boogie board is an English institution. Borrow from Saunton Surf Hire or pick one up in our shop. Training for the World Belly Board Championships starts now!
SMOKE ON THE WATERS, ATHERINGTON
Picture a smokehouse deep in the heart of Texas, then switch your focus to North Devon. Those in the know head here at weekends for the best barbecue in all the land.
FLAME FACTORY, APPLEDORE
A super-friendly riverside restaurant famed for great pizza and steaks.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL, BRAUNTON
Only a short stroll from our shop and our pick for speciality coffee. The rotating menu of donut flavours? Nothing short of dreamy. Now open seven days a week.
CROW POINT TO SAUNTON SANDS
Walk from Crow Point to Saunton Sands to get your steps in, then finish with a dose of healthy hedonism at Source Spa. Featuring prosecco, indoor and outdoor pools and a thermal suite, twilight sessions start at £50.
BROWNSHAM TO BLACKCHURCH ROCK
Walk from Brownsham National Trust car park to the pebble beach at Blackchurch Rock. Check tide times first, and keep your eyes peeled for views of Lundy Island. The Farmers Arms in nearby Woolsery is a top choice for lunch.
LEE BAY TO BULL POINT LIGHTHOUSE
An undulating walk that takes in rocky shores, woodland, fields, rugged coastlines and a fun old pub called the Grampus Inn, where you can reward yourself with a refreshing beverage and maybe a board game by the fire.
