Take Five: November

Welcome to a monthly dose of inspiration from our studio straight to you. Within our team of 15 makers, there’s a fair amount of chat. We want to share what we’re talking about and what’s grabbed our attention. No selling, no jewellery talk, just things that make us smile. Here’s hoping they make you smile too.

SAVOUR

Disco Scallops
Did you know that scallops can be caught with pots and lights instead of dragging heavy chained nets across the seabed? Our copywriter Rachel has been working to help bring this project “Disco Scallops” to life - and they’re now available for home delivery. Just a hot pan, a knob of butter, and two minutes each side is all it takes. Think pillowy-soft, golden-edged indulgence with zero guilt. The ultimate festive date night dish.

DELVE

Crafts at The Lost Kitchen
Crafting season is upon us! The Lost Kitchen in Tiverton is hosting a string of beautiful, seasonal workshops — from wild wreath-making and lino-printed wrapping paper, to dried flower arranging and paper star decorations. With mocktails, cake and countryside calm included, it’s the kind of evening that makes you slow down and savour the moment. Thoughtful gift idea, or just a lovely way to reconnect with your crafty side.

ROAM

Clovelly Christmas Lights
Can you picture a village more magical than Clovelly? Winding cobbled streets, carol singers by candlelight, and a brass band leading a lantern procession to the harbour. It’s the kind of place that feels like a snow globe brought to life. Pair it with a woodland walk beforehand - crunching autumn leaves underfoot, sea air in your lungs - and you’ve got a weekend plan wrapped in twinkly lights. Entry from 2pm, with proceeds supporting the RNLI.

"Give Back Friday: A Cosy Film Night..."For Good"
At the end of November, for ‘Give Back Friday’ we’re swapping the sales for something that feels a little more meaningful, a cosy evening at Neo Cinema in Woolacombe for a special screening of Wicked 2: For Good.  Snuggle into a velvet armchair, sip something lovely, and enjoy a feel-good film — all while raising funds for Women for Women International, a charity helping women survivors of war rebuild their lives.
Friday 28th November | Neo Cinema, Woolacombe | £10 per ticket
All proceeds – including popcorn sales! – go directly to the charity.

MAKER'S CHOICE

Bex's Chia Pudding
This is winter comfort, made effortless. Bex has perfected a) an indulgent brekkie or b) a healthy pudding - whichever way you prefer to look at life. Blend up dates, cacao and yoghurt into a velvety base, add a splash of milk (your choice) and chia seeds, and let it set overnight. By morning, you’ve got a rich, chocolatey pudding with just the right hint of sweetness. Take it to go, or enjoy slowly with a hot coffee and thick socks.
