Wanderlust Life – where it all began. Sunshine, lists, light bulbs and finding your happy.

Wanderlust Life was born on a sunny beach in Oaxaca, Mexico. Sounds like a cliché but it’s totally true.

I was away on my annual travels and escaping the bleak British winter.

In a job back home that didn’t float my boat, and living in a beautiful but quiet village (Summer, fine. Winter, queue the tumble weed), I was on a mission to re-ignite my creativity and make some positive changes.

It’s so true that travel gives you the space and time to get your head around what you really want in life. Without distraction you can look at your own life, looks at the goods, the bad and really make a plan.

And so Wanderlust Life started with a map. It started with a massive doodle actually.

I made lists, lots of lists.
I focused on all the things I loved.
I nearly became a yoga teacher.
I whittled it down some more.

This travel inspired list was such a light bulb moment for me, that I wanted it to become the very inspiration and core of my idea. Everyone needs to get away and give life a little shake up once in a while. And I wanted my ideas to focus on that.

On the big list of ‘what do I love?’ was jewellery.
What girl doesn’t love jewellery?

My mum (the gemstone magpie – check out her jewellery box and you'll know what I mean) was always into collecting semi precious gemstones and I loved combing through her collections that had come from far away places.

The idea of carrying a little jewel around your neck from a far away place – capturing that wanderlust. I wanted to share it with others.

And so I began to build the idea of a jewellery and lifestyle brand based on my own wanderlust and the importance of living a life that makes you happy.
