Helsinki | Finland
This month we are loving the aqueous vibes of Aquamarine. From Latin, it translates to 'water of the sea' referring to its oceanic colour. In folklore, the gemstone was used as a talisman for good luck, fearlessness & protection at sea. It's blue-grey plunge pool of tones are deep, subtle and classic much like Finland's capital city Helsinki, this month's travel inspiration.
Helsinki at the most easterly point of it's nordic cousins and has definitely got us excited to visit this coming year. Filled with innovative effortless design, breathtaking archipelagos, and cool fresh Baltic sea air; a relationship with nature really is the heart of Finnish lifestyle.
With so much to explore both centrally and further inland. The vast forests, hidden cabins, private lakes, blankets of blueberry bushes in the summer, and skiing, sauna's and deep snow in winter. It easy it is to feel a real sense of wanderlust in this wild and beautiful place.

The Finns are just as famous for coffee as the Italians. Warm up and have a coffee and bun at the famous Karl Fazer Café (the chocolate is also unbelievable!) and feel inspired to make your own delicious Pulla (Finnish Cardamom Sweet Buns) with the help of My Blue&White Kitchen.
